Kennedy High School

CR Kennedy Band Makes History with Selection to National Concert Band Festival

A person's back is visible in the foreground, facing a banner that announces "Music for All 2027 National Festival" in the background.

We are thrilled to announce that the Cedar Rapids Kennedy High School Band has been selected for the highly prestigious Music for All National Concert Band Festival! Recognized as the premier high school band festival in the nation, this invitation is an extraordinary honor.

This marks a historic first for the Kennedy Band program, and they have the distinct privilege of being the only school representing the entire state of Iowa at this year’s event.

In April, our talented student-musicians will travel to Indianapolis to perform, receive feedback from the nation’s top band clinicians, and participate in masterclasses and workshops.

This achievement is a testament to the relentless hard work, dedication, and artistic excellence of our students, as well as the outstanding leadership of directors Mrs. Fleer and Mrs. Williamson.

Please join us in congratulating the entire Kennedy High School Band community on this national recognition! We couldn't be prouder to have them represent Cedar Rapids on the national stage.
